Catherine Ricketts, née Prewitt, is a Philadelphia-based essayist and songwriter.

Her writing about grief, spirituality, and the arts has been published by Image, The Millions, Paste Magazine, Measure Journal, Relief Journal, The Philadelphia Inquirer, and WXPN’s The Key. She studied creative writing at the University of Pennsylvania and holds an MFA in creative nonfiction from Seattle Pacific University. She has been a resident writer at the Trinity Forum Academy and the Collegeville Institute.

Her music informs her nonfiction and her nonfiction informs her music; each song is a micro-memoir, each line of prose carried by a songwriter’s lilt and lyricism. She has performed her music at Philadelphia's Tin Angel, World Cafe Live, Kung Fu Necktie, The Fire, and Milkboy Coffee. She loves to play historic spaces like The Woodlands' William Hamilton Mansion and Fleisher Art Memorial, and at house shows and small listening rooms.
